Friday 5: Now & Later

For today's Friday 5, I've chosen a few items that I'm ready to put to good use NOW and one for later!

  1. Oh hey, Nordy! I'd love to take this cute eyelet skirt off your hands in any or all of the colors offered! What a cute summer essential! {eyelet skirt $49}
  2. So this is my Friday pick for later... you see, I don't need this cute rug in my life right now, but I've had my eye on it for a while and it's on sale. No room for it in my house now, but since I'm on the house hunt, it might just be perfect for where I end up! And yes, I realize it's from PB Teen, but have you seen some of the great home items they have for non-teens? {mini dot rug $240}
  3. Just added these cute flats to my collection. I've been on the hunt for the perfect leopard flats ever since my pup chewed up my forever favorite Banana Republic pair when she was a puppy... mind you, Lola turned 5 this week, so yea, I've been on the hunt for a while! Worth the splurge for me... and I snatched them up during a Kate Spade 25% off friends and family sale! {terry leopard haircalf flat $228}
  4. How many pairs of sunglasses is too many pairs of sunglasses? And how similar is too similar? If I didn't have to justify those two questions, these babies would already be mine! They're like an Audrey Hepburn version of a classic. {Ray-Ban thick cat-eye Wayfarer $144}
  5. Every color I'm planning on frequenting this summer all in one scarf. It's like one stop shopping. You need this in your closet, too. You'll thank me later. {spring garden infinity scarf $48}

Friday 5: Picnics and Pastels

I'm going to start a new series here on ella.bella.bea&flo called "Friday 5." Each week I will post 5 things that have caught my eye over the past week. There is no telling where this will go since you can already tell it's a little of this -- a little of that kinda thing!

So off we go!

1. I think I need this cute mini pitcher from anthro. Wouldn't it be darling with some fresh flowers in it or used to serve your favorite house guest fresh juice for breakfast in bed? {petite pitcher $24}
2. Can J.Crew can do bad jewelry? Seriously, I'll take one of everything... but since that is not in my budget, I think I'll add this gem for now! {bracelet $27}
3. Picnic anyone? I'll bring the bubbly in this cute little carrier! {champagne tote $98}
4. Spring has finally sprung! And please be here to stay this time! It's time to brighten up my polish and this new Essie shade is right up my alley! {"under where?" polish $8}
5. And since I'm gonna pretty up my little piggies with said nail polish, I think I'll add these sandals to the top of my shopping list. {Sam Edelman $120}

Post Season Party Dress?

So you know Mama always said, "If the shoe fits, buy it... in two colors!" Ok, so maybe I added the second part! Well, does that rule apply to party dresses?

Here's my dilemma: Great dresses at sale prices, but we've just passed the prime party season of Christmas and New Years AND {for once in my twenty-something life} I don't have any weddings coming up until Spring, which by then these won't fit the bill.

So, do I buy the dress or dresses and hang on to them for next years gatherings or pass on the bargains? Decisions, decisions.

Sequined Jacquard Dress / Colorblock Sequin Dress

I like these options because they aren't your typical sparkly numbers. Ya know?

Why is it that when you need a great dress for an upcoming occasion they are nearly impossible to find, yet when I have zero need for either of these fancy numbers, I could get them at a steal of a deal? Oh the pity.

Done and Done: Part 4... delayed

Tis the week I get back to business and back to my DIY projects. I promised to do 8 before Christmas, and this project marks that halfway point! Wahoo! Here are the first few if you're curious: 1, 2 and 3.

This week's project was inspired by a good old Anthro catalog. Gosh I love Anthropologie!

Using supplies I had left over from other projects, I made some fun and colorful magnets for my office. I chose patterns and colors in the photos of merchandise that I thought were bright and fun like so:

And with the help of the magnets, I traced circles over the colorful images, then simply cut them out... that being the most tedious part of the project!

Then with the help of a little glue {I used a glue stick, but next time I would switch to spray adhesive} I had my finished product:

Already hard at work on my filing cabinet... I had to find some way to make a filing cabinet more fun!

Hope everyone has a great week! Thanks for stopping by :)
